As one of Heywood's earlier Polticial Ideas and Concepts books, it is not as well organised or written. I must prefer his latest editions or published books which provide clear definitions and then in-depth analysis, rather than jumping all around the place which is what this book entails, so Andrew Heywood is amazing, but his latest books are just simply far better when compared to Cited by: The goal of Basic Political Concepts is to provide exactly what the title suggests: a small set of carefully defined and interrelated words that can be used to describe and analyze a wide range of political phenomena and issues.
